Ø Dhobi Ghat: Mahalaxmi Dhobi Ghat is one of the largest open air laundries in the world with an area of 15 acres out of which nearly 2.5 acres have been declared as the world heritage site. It was built by British in 1890, today 7000 men & women wash clothes daily on this iconic ghat; view of washing clothes using hands in such a big number is a point of curiosity among tourists. It has proven to be the favorite destination of photographers since many years because of the vibrant colours of clothes, splashing water. The best view of this ghat is from the railway bridge of Mahalaxmi area.
